Beef bourguignon

Beef bourguignon - A Great Meal

  1. Spray a heavy bottomed pan lightly with vegetable spray
  2. Allow pan to become extremely hot
  3. Add beef and stir until well browned on all sides
  4. Add onions and garlic, cook until onions are transparent
  5. Add tomato paste and tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes
  6. Add wine, brown sauce, thyme and black pepper
  7. Cover and simmer for 2 hours
  8. Add mushrooms and pearl onions. Continue to simmer until vegetables are tender 
  9. Garnish with bacon bits and parsley
  10. Serve hot

600 grams sirloin of beef 1" dice
500 ml onions, 1" dice
10 ml garlic, minced
15 ml tomato paste
125 ml fresh tomato, chopped
250 ml dry red wine
625 ml brown sauce
2 1/2 ml thyme, dried
750 ml fresh mushrooms, quartered
250 ml pearl onions
30 grams bacon bits, cooked and drained
30 ml parsley, chopped
